It's about Environmental Illness, and people who have been affected, and the disbelievers, and the political aspects. I only saw about half - found it on the way by. There was a phone number given for giving comments, and an address to write to for further information. I couldn't write fast enough to get it all as written, but: Bad Chemistry c/o KQED Body and Mind 500 - 8th Street San Francisco, CA 94103 The phone number is (415) 553-2100. I'm going to try calling KQED today to see if they plan to re-broadcast it, and if it is going to be broadcast outside of the SF area. Most of what it covered was just case histories of people who have been affected. Interesting, but I won't try to recount here (memory not good enough to do it well). What I DID find interesting was that there's a group of people who are together to try and disseminate the info, and educate the medical community to the realities of the problem. As one woman put it - she cannot watch programs on endangered species any longer - she identifies with them on a personal level (gee - it's already know that DDT is responsible for the extinction or near extinction of some birds - COULD it be that chemicals are bad???). One of the things this group did was picket a workshop held for allergists in SF last year(1990? Can't remember). Since some of the people are too sick to picket, ActUp - The AIDS activist group - donated people to help with the picketing, and possibly more. If you have a local PBS station there - call them and ask them if/when they are going to show this - it was called Bad Chemistry, and was shown on KQED, SF channel 9, at 8:00 p.m. on December 30, 1990.
