I noticed mercury is fairly high on the > list. The amount of mercury released over the lifetime of a filling is tiny compared to the huge dose you would get having them all drilled out. (presuming you have a lot of fillings, as I do) The alternative materials (excepting gold, which is *expensive*) have nasty organic chemicals in them, which are probably worse for you than the small amounts of mercury released during chewing. They also don't last very long. (again excepting gold) If you want to get rid of your mercury fillings, have them replaced as they wear out over time, and have them replaced with gold. --nick caruso icad inc, 201 broadway peoples republic of cambridge, MA 02139-1901 internet: nick@icad.com / UUCP: ...uunet!icad.com!nick these are my personal opinions and do not those represent those of icad inc.
