Summary-line: 3-Apr andrea@sdd.hp.com #blood pressure *** EOOH *** Return-Path: Date: Wed, 3 Apr 91 13:32:37 -0800 From: Andrea Frankel To: immune@weber.ucsd.edu Subject: blood pressure My doctor confirmed that infection general raises the blood pressure - part of the normal reaction of the immune system coming to our rescue, it increases the amount of blood and therefore the number of white cells which are carried past the areas under siege. It is also well documented that even a little fear, even a subconscious anxiety, will raise the blood pressure, and that many people have higher bp when the doc takes it at the office than when someone friendly and not intimidating does it (or it's done at home). andrea
