Seems i read more and more about magnesium every year. For example, I recall reading that folks with low levels of Mag. tend to also have high levels of histamines... Ive done 'magnesium loading test' and have taken cal-mag for some time.. but if what i take isnt being absorbed.. hmmmm.... Would appreciate hearing more. Does the malabsorbtion disorder have a name ? Can my doc get the mag into solution for IV injections ? Any and all other info appreciated. Also_ does anyone know when a test for HTLV-2 will be commercially available ? (The retro-virus most recently linked to CFIDS/CFS)... or, where in the NE it is currently available ? (my doc will order it if I figure out where to get it.. and for this i pay him !!!) Short personal history: Someday ill post a longer version... In Jan '85 i was an obsessive cyclist, agressive downhill skier, graduate student, and somewhat of a partier. Have had chronic, DISABLING SI (sacro-illiac) pain ever since. Mostly cant do anything.. On good days can walkmaybe a half a block with a walker or cane and many rest stops in between. Cant shop, cook, shower (baths only), etc, etc. Originally diagnosed as Ankylosing Spondylits (Am HLA-B27+), then, years later diagnosis changed to Fibromyalgia. Over hte last year have also developed intermittent (more on than off) cold sweats, fevers, nausea and general blahs.... HAve tried a myriad of drugs and alternative therapies. If interested, write and ill post a longer version. Current investigation: homeopathy. Any anecdotes out there ? -kim
